Pimm’s Winter Cider
When I walked outside this morning, fresh frost covered the leaves and shimmered in the light. It was cold, but the air was fresh, and clean. I didn’t want to drink another batch of warm cider, eggnog, or buttered rum, and I’d had my share of allspice. Instead, I wanted to opt for a drink that was a little more refreshing.
Pimm’s recently (2005) released their Winter cup, which has a brandy base, and heavier notes of orange and spice. It makes an incredible warm winter drink that has a little more spark than the other winter cocktails. The recipe below is adapted from OhGosh.com, and I’ve adapted it further for those of us who will have a harder time buying Pimm’s winter. Make sure you get rich, cloudy apple cider, preferably from your farmers market, it will make all the difference in the world.
